On April 2, Lee Hyori appeared on KBS Cool FM’s radio show “Oh My Girl Hyojung’s Volume Up”. She joined as a guest to celebrate the show’s 30th anniversary, where her friend and singer-lyricist Maybee served as a special DJ.

The two greeted each other warmly, noting that it had been six years since they last met, and began the broadcast in a relaxed atmosphere. While reading listeners’ stories and questions, Lee Hyori was asked about dieting.
Lee Hyori said, “I naturally don’t gain weight. My weight is 53kg. When I gain a bit, it goes up to 54kg, and when I lose a lot, it’s 51kg. It’s never really changed.” She added, “_I’ve never been on a diet. In fact, the problem is when I lose too much weight. I end up looking too thin or my cheeks hollow out. So these days I try to eat well. For people who tend to lose weight, being too thin can make you look unhealthy. I’m actually trying to gain weight._”

She also noted that while some of her traits are natural, others are not, “I have dry skin. When I see someone like Maybee, whose skin isn’t dry, I get envious.”
Lee Hyori then smiled as she talked about her appearance, “_I was born with good facial features. I was born pretty, but I think I’m aging fast. I saw a comment online yesterday that said, ‘Kim Hee-sun is youthful, but Lee Hyori looks older, right?’ I admit I don’t look that young anymore._”

She also spoke about her happy marriage to singer Lee Sang-soon. When asked about “how to avoid fights”, she said, “We don’t fight much. My advice is: just don’t marry someone you’ll fight with. I used to date someone I fought with constantly. At the time, I wondered if I just had a bad personality and questioned whether I’d be able to have a good marriage. But it turns out it depends on the person. Some people provoke you, while others calm you down. That’s when I realized how important compatibility is.”
When asked about her “prime” years, Lee Hyori said every moment has been her peak in some way. “In terms of beauty, probably during ‘U-Go-Girl’. I was too young during ‘10 Minutes’, while ‘U-Go-Girl’ had more of a feminine vibe. During ‘10 Minutes’, I had more of a healthy image.”

She continued, “If we’re talking about peace of mind, then now is my peak. Actually, this is my prime. It depends on how you define it. For popularity, it was ‘10 Minutes’. But as a person and as a woman, I was happiest during the early days of marriage. Every moment has its own high point. Right now, I’m in a peaceful, accepting, mellow kind of prime.”
After marrying Lee Sang-soon in 2013, Lee Hyori lived in Jeju Island and recently moved back to Seoul. She was the MC for the makeup competition program “Top Class Makeup Survival – Just Makeup”.
