Lee Joon-hyuk “Wins the Lottery but Stays at Work” in Upcoming Drama Amid Realistic Office Themes

Lee Joon-hyuk is set to bring warmth and relatability to the screen in TVING’s new original drama, Even a Lotto Winner Still Goes to Work_ (tentative title)_. The series, which premieres in 2026, reunites the actor with co-stars Seo Hyun-woo and Oh Dae-hwan for a slice-of-life story that explores the quiet evolution of ordinary workers.

Based on the hit web novel of the same name and directed by Yoon Young-bin (Gangneung), the drama follows Gong Eun-tae (played by Lee Joon-hyuk), a diligent but unremarkable office worker who unexpectedly wins 1.3 billion won (approximately $955,000 million USD) in the lottery. Despite this life-changing moment, Eun-tae decides to continue his daily commute, convinced that his life hasn’t really changed—at least not on the surface.
What follows is a poignant, often humorous look at how even a small emotional shift can lead to deeper introspection. “This story is about office workers navigating life and adjusting to each other,” Lee said. “It’s something I felt could resonate with real people.”

Seo Hyun-woo joins the cast as Yang Jun-ho, a formerly promising employee whose stagnant career leads to resentment when his junior Eun-tae is promoted ahead of him. Seo noted, “The idea of a lottery falling into an average worker’s lap is a dream many share. I found the story deeply realistic and emotionally compelling.”

Meanwhile, Oh Dae-hwan plays Jung Sun-hyuk, a hardworking team leader often overlooked for promotions. Tired of doing everything by the book, he decides to change tactics and embrace opportunism to protect his future. “This series carries a meaningful message,” Oh said. “I’m happy to be part of it and to work again with familiar faces and the director.”
As TVING continues to expand its catalog of relatable, grounded dramas, Even a Lotto Winner Still Goes to Work promises to deliver a unique take on post-lottery life—not through extravagance, but through the lens of quiet personal growth and office camaraderie.
