In an interview with Entertainment Weekly on June 27 (local time), actor Lee Jung-jae, who reprises his role as Gi-hun in Netflix’s Squid Game Season 3, admitted that he “could never have predicted the ending [of Squid Game 3].”

“It ended in a way I never imagined,” he said. “Even after spending so many years immersed in Squid Game and deeply focused on the character of Gi-hun, I found it shocking. The ending was so sensational that I remember pausing after reading that page of the script just to process it before going back to read it again.”
