Lee Min-jung Reveals: “Lee Byung-hun Calls Me for Adult Verification, He’s Only Good at Acting and Parenting”
On the May 29 episode of KBS2’s Problem Child in House 2, Lee Min-jung and Kim Jae-won appeared as guests.
Lee Min-jung revealed that her husband, Lee Byung-hun, is technologically challenged. She shared, “When we went on a trip to the U.S., I asked him to find good restaurants and famous attractions. He spent 20 minutes talking to the hotel staff and came back with a stack of printed maps.”
She added, “It’s not that he doesn’t use apps—he can’t. I installed a delivery app for him recently, but he hasn’t used it once. He seems scared of new technology. Once, when I ordered delivery from another city, he asked, ‘How does delivery work from there to here?’ He doesn’t use banking apps either, so I have to handle the OTP [one-time password] for him.”
Host Kim Sook teased, “Sounds like Lee Min-jung controls all the finances,” but Lee Min-jung replied with a laugh, “Not quite.” She continued, “When we’re watching a movie on an app and it requires adult verification, he calls me saying, ‘It needs adult verification, I need you.’ I’m like, ‘You’re an adult too, why do you need me?’ It’s because he needs me to input the verification code.”
Lee Min-jung also shared a behind-the-scenes story about Lee Byung-hun’s viral “gummy smile dance” at Tokyo Dome, which gained attention through Song Jin-woo’s parody. She explained, “I asked him why he danced so happily when dancing is supposed to be cool. He said the producer told him, ‘Don’t lose your smile.’ He’s always good at following directions.”
Regarding Lee Byung-hun’s advice, Lee Min-jung said, “He plans his humor in advance—it’s like recycling talk show material. His advice doesn’t always hit the mark. We discuss scripts together; I look at them from a mainstream perspective, while he has a professional viewpoint.”
When Kim Sook asked, “What else is Lee Byung-hun good at?” Lee Min-jung replied, “He’s optimized for acting. And he’s great at parenting.”
Lee Min-jung also expressed affection for their two children. Their son, Jun-hoo, who helps with YouTube content, is a spitting image of Lee Byung-hun, while their daughter resembles her. She shared, “Jun-hoo gives me editing advice. He once said, ‘Videos with me get more views,’ and commented, ‘You were trying too hard to look pretty in the wedding dress video,’ which hurt my pride. But it’s true—videos with him get four times more views than those without.”
She added, “I always wanted a daughter, and she’s so independent. She’s not clingy with me but showers her dad and brother with smiles and charm. She’s irresistible.” Lee Min-jung revealed a photo of Lee Byung-hun, smitten by their daughter, being dragged to the underground parking lot on a rainy day.
