Lee Min-jung Reveals Hilarious Story About Husband Lee Byung-hun That Shocked Her Mother During Their Dating Days
Actress Lee Min-jung recently shared a funny anecdote from when she was dating now-husband Lee Byung-hun, and it involved quite a misunderstanding with her mother.
On April 17, a new Shorts video titled “The BH Hospital Series” was uploaded to Lee Min-jung’s official YouTube channel. In the clip, Lee was responding to fan comments left on her videos. One fan mistakenly wrote “Lee Byung-won” instead of her husband’s correct name, Lee Byung-hun, prompting Lee to jokingly reply, “What kind of hospital is that?”
She then recalled a memorable moment from their early relationship. “Back when we were dating, I didn’t pick up my phone, so Byung-hun called my house. At the time, my grandmother was seriously ill and in the hospital, and my mom answered the phone around 9:30 p.m,” Lee explained.
She continued, reenacting the moment: “Byung-hun said, ‘Hello, this is Byung-hun,’ but my mom thought he said ‘This is the hospital.’ She got startled and responded, ‘The hospital? What happened this late at night?’” Thinking it was an emergency call from the hospital, her mother panicked. When Lee Byung-hun asked to speak with Min-jung, her mother exclaimed, “Min-jung? Is this her final message or something?!”
Lee laughed as she recalled her mother’s relief when she realized it was just her future son-in-law calling: “Then when he clarified, ‘No, I’m Byung-hun,’ she finally realized and went, ‘Oh! Byung-hun!’ It was a total scene.”
The clip has delighted fans, showing a lighthearted side to the couple’s early courtship and offering a glimpse into Lee Min-jung’s cheerful personality. Lee Min-jung and Lee Byung-hun are now married with a son and daughter. She recently launched her YouTube channel to connect more closely with fans and share personal stories.
