Actor and singer Lee Seung-gi has taken legal action against an online investment platform for unlawfully using his image to promote its services in a deceptive manner.
On April 15, his agency BPM Entertainment issued a strong statement confirming that Lee’s portrait rights had been violated.
According to the agency, the platform falsely implied Lee Seung-gi’s endorsement by displaying his photo as part of an advertisement aimed at luring users through the promise of credibility and trust. The promotion encouraged users to join through personal referrals, using Lee’s face to falsely present him as a brand ambassador.
BPM Entertainment clarified that Lee has no connection to the platform and denounced the misuse of his likeness for fraudulent commercial purposes. “We are taking all legal measures, including filing lawsuits,” the agency stated. “This is a serious violation, and we intend to respond with zero tolerance.”
The agency has already issued a certified legal notice to the operator of the platform and has initiated both civil and criminal proceedings. It emphasized that it would continue to protect Lee Seung-gi’s rights and reputation from any future violations.
