The couple, who married in 2014 after a decade-long friendship, have two daughters. Despite suffering three miscarriages, Lee joyfully welcomed her second child in 2020, five years after her first. Their peaceful family life had been portrayed on the reality show SBS’s Same Bed, Different Dreams 2, where they were lauded for their harmonious and affectionate relationship.

The Rumors and Online Speculation

Recently, a video circulated on YouTube alleging that Dr. Jung had an affair with a nurse assistant at his clinic, and that the couple had already filed for divorce. The video quickly gained traction, surpassing 170,000 views in five days, prompting speculation among fans and netizens.

The video’s claims were amplified by comments Lee made during a February episode of Same Bed, Different Dreams, where she shared that her husband was often absent due to his busy work schedule. She expressed concern about their children missing their father, leading viewers to speculate that her words hinted at deeper marital issues.

The Couple’s Response

On May 13, Dr. Jung responded directly through his personal Instagram, posting a family photo and issuing a brief but firm denial:

“A few days ago, an article involving me started spreading. I didn’t expect to be of such interest. But due to growing concerns, I want to clarify: Our family is doing well amidst a busy life. The rumors about divorce are completely unfounded.”

This statement appears to be a direct attempt to dispel the rapidly spreading falsehoods and protect their family’s privacy.

The Bigger Issue: Fake News on YouTube

The YouTube channel that posted the video is notorious for uploading 2–3 fake news videos daily, targeting celebrities with claims of divorce or even death. Past false reports include claims about Jo Bo-ah, Moon Se-yoon, Kim Yuna, and others. Some videos have even used fabricated funeral portraits, heightening concerns over the spread of malicious misinformation.
