Legendary Soccer Player’s Wife Reveals Shocking First Encounter with Mother-in-law, “She Asked About My Height and Weight, I Kneeled for 2hrs”
On October 10th, MBN’s show Decision to Divorce released a teaser video titled “Shocking! First Encounter with Mother-in-law: Two Hours on Her Knees! Even Jung Dae-se Was Surprised.”
In this video, Myung Seo-hyun recalled, “After about four months of dating, Dae-se’s mother invited me to visit her in Japan. As soon as I entered and greeted her, her first words were, ‘Dae-se, go upstairs.’ I was terrified, thinking, ‘What does she want to do with me alone without him?’” She added, “The first thing she asked was, ‘Why do you like Dae-se?’ Then she said, ‘If you two get married, I’ll manage your household expenses. How tall are you? How much do you weigh?’ She asked very personal questions, which left me shocked.”
Myung Seo-hyun continued, “I was so scared, and I still can’t forget the look in her eyes. I kneeled down and talked with her for two hours. Thoughts like ‘Is this what life as a daughter-in-law will be like? Can I handle this?’ kept running through my mind.” Hearing this in the studio, Jung Dae-se was surprised, admitting, “This is the first time I’m hearing about this. I thought she only had good things to say.”
In another part of the show, Myung Seo-hyun opened up during a counseling session about her early struggles. “At first, I was determined. I thought, ‘I need to do my best. If I show effort, she’ll understand and accept me as a daughter-in-law.’ But it wasn’t easy.”
Jung Dae-se and Myung Seo-hyun, who is a year older than him and a former flight attendant, married in 2013. They have one son and one daughter. The couple has been candidly sharing their experiences, including difficulties with in-law relationships, through the show Decision to Divorce.
