At the world’s largest fashion event, the 2025 Met Gala, held on May 5 (local time in the U.S.), BLACKPINK emerged as the true stars. Lisa and Jennie outshone global icons Rihanna and Zendaya, securing the 1st and 3rd spots in global media influence rankings.

According to a survey conducted by the renowned entertainment magazine The Hollywood Reporter in collaboration with data analytics firm Launchmetrics, Lisa, dressed in Louis Vuitton, generated a media value of $21.3 million (approximately 30.3 billion KRW). This figure placed her at the top among all female stars on the Met Gala red carpet.

In the same survey, Jennie, wearing Chanel, recorded a media value of $17.6 million (approximately 25 billion KRW), securing 3rd place. Both Lisa and Jennie serve as ambassadors for Louis Vuitton and Chanel, respectively.
Lisa and Jennie’s achievements are particularly significant as they surpassed Zendaya ($14.3 million) and Rihanna ($13.5 million), who ranked 4th and 5th, respectively—both considered among the most influential stars in global fashion. The rankings, compiled by Launchmetrics, were based on global media coverage and viral metrics from social media platforms like Instagram. As of May 13, Lisa’s Met Gala red carpet photos garnered 3.56 million likes, while Jennie’s three Met Gala posts collectively exceeded 11 million likes, demonstrating their overwhelming global fandom.
Jennie and Lisa maximized their impact by sharing photos on social media, perfectly embodying the looks of their respective brands. Industry experts noted the power of global social media, particularly its “viral responsiveness,” as a key indicator of future commercial value. Launchmetrics has drawn attention by converting stars’ media exposure at major global red carpet events, such as the Met Gala, into a “Media Impact Value” (MIV), which also analyzes brands’ return on investment.

Previously, Lisa faced backlash for wearing a Louis Vuitton outfit featuring portraits by artist Henry Taylor, with some speculating one resembled Rosa Parks. A spokesperson clarified the images were of Taylor’s friends and neighbors, not historical figures. In other news, Lisa has joined Grammy-winning band Maroon 5 for their upcoming album and is set to appear in Season 3 of the The White Lotus, marking another step forward in her acting career.
Jennie recently made history at Coachella, North America’s largest music festival, by becoming the first female K-pop soloist to perform on the Outdoor Theatre stage. Her appearance was part of the promotion for her successful solo album “Ruby,” which has been praised for showcasing her unique artistry and musical growth.
