Korean Internet in Uproar Over Man’s Death Threats Against Elementary Students: Shocking Post Leads to Arrest

On June 18, Seoul’s Jungnang Police Station announced the arrest of the suspect, referred to as Mr. A, on charges of making threats and obstructing official duties through deceit. The arrest took place in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province on June 16.
The case began when Mr. A posted a threatening message on the online forum DC Inside, revealing the full names of five female elementary school students in Seoul alongside a photo of a weapon. In the post, he wrote, “I will go to the school next week and kill them all.”
Prior to the post, Mr. A reportedly contacted one of the students, Miss B, through social media, asking for photos and videos. After she blocked him, he tracked down the SNS accounts of four of her friends, also requesting photos of Miss B. When the girls asked him to stop, he escalated the situation by publishing the death threat.
Authorities took the threat seriously, ramping up patrols around the school and enforcing long-term protection measures for the affected students. The investigation eventually led them to Mr. A’s location in Siheung.

Beyond the charges of threatening behavior, Mr. A has also been charged with obstruction of official duties, as the threat diverted significant police resources and public safety measures over several months. Police are continuing to investigate the full extent of Mr. A’s actions and motives.

- People like this psychopath should just be sentenced to death.
- Humans are animals too. They need to be beaten. Only through pain do they learn what’s wrong and stop. Same goes for schools. Punishment or violence without reason isn’t okay, but kids who can’t be rehabilitated like that need a beating.
- Seriously? Even elementary school kids now… Death penalty, let’s go.
The case has raised deep concerns about online harassment, child protection, and the real-world impact of threats made on social media platforms.
