
Major broadcast networks, including the three terrestrial stations and cable channels, have decided to cancel variety shows and dramas, replacing them with special news broadcasts.
SBS’s Friday-Saturday drama “The Fiery Priest 2” aired its 9th episode on December 6, but the 10th episode, scheduled for December 7, was canceled in favor of a news special. The music show Inkigayo, scheduled for December 8, will also be canceled.

MBC’s Friday-Saturday drama “When The Phone Rings” announced that its episodes 5 and 6, scheduled for December 6 and 7, would be postponed due to the news special. Episode 5, which was supposed to air on December 6 with a 10-minute extended runtime, has been rescheduled for December 13.
JTBC’s weekend drama “The Tale of Lady Ok” will be canceled on December 7 and will return with episode 3 on December 8. The variety show “Knowing Bros” will also be canceled due to the news special.
Channel A’s weekend drama “Marry You” will skip episode 7, which will be aired in a back-to-back broadcast with episode 8 on December 8. MBN also decided to cancel the variety shows “Let’s go” and “Dongchimi.”
In addition to TV programs, YouTube content creators have also delayed their releases. YouTube channel “Channel Fullmoon,” operated by PD Na Young-seok and others, announced on December 6, “The regular Friday content scheduled for upload today has been postponed for the week,” adding, “We will return next week with better content.”

YouTube channel DdeunDdeun, featuring Yoo Jae-suk and Hwang Jung-min, will also delay its “Punghyanggo” episode, which will now be available on December 15. The production team stated, “The ‘Punghyanggo’ episode, which was scheduled for upload this Sunday, has been postponed for the week.”
On the evening of December 3, President Yoon Suk-yeol made an emergency announcement from the Yongsan presidential office, declaring a state of emergency. The following morning, December 4, a motion to lift the martial law was presented at the National Assembly, where all 190 attending members voted in favor. The martial law was lifted at 4:27 AM on December 4 through a live broadcast from the Yongsan presidential office.
The impeachment motion against President Yoon Suk-yeol is expected to be handled by the National Assembly at 5 PM on December 7. The Assembly will first vote on the impeachment motion and then proceed to re-vote on the special prosecutor bill for Kim Gun-hee.
