MC Mong, executive producer of OneHundred Label, has officially stepped down from his role as of June 13, citing “personal reasons.” However, the timing of his sudden departure, mere days before the agency announced Joo Haknyeon’s expulsion from THE BOYZ, has fueled speculation that his exit may be tied to the unfolding scandal.

On June 18, OneHundred confirmed the termination of Joo Haknyeon’s exclusive contract and his removal from the group, following reports by Japanese media outlet Shūkan Bunshun. The article alleged that Joo Haknyeon had been seen drinking and engaging in intimate behavior with Asuka Kirara, a former Japanese AV actress, at a private Tokyo bar in May.

OneHundred swiftly responded to the controversy, stating on June 16 that the incident involved a “private matter” serious enough to warrant both contract termination and group expulsion.

Just five days before the scandal broke, OneHundred had announced that MC Mong, who co-founded the label with Chairman Cha Ga-won and also served as an internal director at subsidiary Big Planet Made, would suspend all his responsibilities as executive producer. The lack of detail in the announcement, combined with the proximity to the Haknyeon scandal—has triggered online speculation that MC Mong may have had some connection to the controversial gathering.

So far, MC Mong has not issued any public comments regarding his sudden resignation or the swirling rumors. His silence has only intensified questions about whether his withdrawal was preemptive damage control or merely coincidental.
