5th-generation K-pop girl group frontrunner MEOVV officially pre-released their new song “HANDS UP” on April 28 at 6 PM (KTS).

The track serves as a teaser for their upcoming first EP ‘MY EYES OPEN VVIDE’, set to drop on May 12, showcasing MEOVV‘s signature high-energy performances.

As soon as the track was released, fans exploded with reactions—both positive and hilarious.

One fan commented, “The song is good, but the music video feels wild, like they were on something LOL,” while others chimed in with remarks like, “The song is insanely addictive,” and “The music is way better than expected, but the MV feels a bit too chaotic.”

The music video’s unconventional directing, bold color palette, and unexpected plot twists quickly became a hot topic online.

  • It’s a bit confusing, but it feels unique and pretty good… Since all the mainstream directions are already saturated, I think it’s better to go for something that really stands out like this.
  • I think it would be better to just firmly settle on one concept, like the “miyao” (cat-like) concept. The members don’t really match well with that kind of bizarre music video concept…
  • It seems like Teddy is trying a lot of different things. It’s definitely got that Arabian-style Teddy vibe, but compared to Black, he seems to be experimenting a lot more here.
  • I’m seriously not part of any viral marketing, but I really love it — maybe Teddy has found his groove again.
  • The song sounds like a Maui tribe song, and the music video feels like a Norazo music video.

In a recent Q&A session, MEOVV described “HANDS UP” as “a song that shows our energy and freedom,” hinting at an even wider spectrum of charm with their upcoming comeback.

With “HANDS UP” already making waves, anticipation for MEOVV’s first EP ‘MY EYES OPEN VVIDE’ is growing stronger by the day.
