Explaining their group name, the girl group said, “MEOVV stands for ‘My Eyes Open Wide’. It has various meanings, including the cute sound of a chic yet lovable cat. The VV also symbolizes our stylish image and the fact that there are five of us.”

Host Kim Tae-kyun mentioned the group’s diverse background, to which Narin said, “Sooin and I were born in Korea.”

Meanwhile, Anna added, “I’m from Japan and came here about a year ago,” surprising the audience. Ella shared, “I’m from California, USA,” while Gawon revealed, “I have dual citizenship; I was born in the US but I’m Korean.”

Debuting as the first girl group entirely produced by Teddy, who has worked with BIGBANG, 2NE1, and BLACKPINK, MEOVV garnered significant attention even before their debut.

Kim Tae-kyun highlighted that the group returned with a comeback just 80 days after their debut. MEOVV introduced their new single, explaining, “The album ‘TOXIC’ features 2 title tracks with completely opposite vibes. ‘TOXIC’ blends various vocal colors with minimalistic sounds, making it perfect for snowy winter days.”

She added, “The song was so moving, and Gawon and I contributed to writing the lyrics. That emotional connection brought me to tears.”

Describing the song’s theme, she said, “The lyrics honestly express a complicated relationship, conveying the contradictory feeling of needing someone despite a toxic connection.”

The conversation shifted to Taeyang’s participation in their dance challenge and the choreography for the other title, “BODY”, created by Street Woman Fighter’s Lee Jung. When asked if the dance was challenging, Anna admitted, “It was the hardest choreography we’ve done so far.”
