On October 16, Min Hee-jin gave an interview on the YouTube channel of Japan’s TV Asahi and ANN News.

During the interview, Min Hee-jin explained her current position at ADOR, stating, “I’m currently neither a producer nor a CEO. While my authority as an internal director is somewhat ambiguous, I’m continuing with the planning I’ve been involved in so far.”

Min Hee-jin then stressed that her top priority is the plans she’s made with NewJeans. “This dispute will come to an end one way or another. I will do my best to fulfill our plans,” she said, expressing her determination. She continued, “Originally, we had plans starting with a world tour next year, and I was already conceptualizing their full-length album which will be released early next year. Who could have anticipated this situation?”

Min Hee-jin also appealed, “I’ve been talking with the members, but since the next steps aren’t clear, I want to resolve this situation quickly.”

Furthermore, referring to Hanni, who appeared as a witness at the National Assembly audit, Min Hee-jin emphasized their close bond, saying, “Hanni’s mother isn’t in Seoul right now. Naturally, I need to play the role of her Seoul mom. Someone needs to be her pillar of support.”

Min Hee-jin also made comments that seemed to address the allegations of “gaslighting NewJeans members” raised by some. She explained, “All of NewJeans’ moms are around my age. The kids are still a bit young, so we want to introduce things to them naturally, like saying, ‘Mom and Dad used to like this. Why don’t you give it a try?’ We have absolutely no intention of creating avatars. The members have very distinct personalities and different tastes.”

She added, “These kids might have bonded well with me because we match in that way, we are similar people. I may have chosen them, but I might have chosen them because I sensed those qualities.”
