I-DLE’s Miyeon Admits a BIGBANG Member Inspired Her to Become a YG Trainee: Who is Her Ultimate Bias?

In a video uploaded on May 23 to the YouTube channel Zip Daesung, I-DLE‘s Miyeon appeared alongside fellow member Soyeon and veteran idol Daesung.

The episode quickly turned heartwarming, and hilarious, when Miyeon revealed just how much of an impact Daesung had on her journey to becoming a K-pop star.

“I really feel like… “Is this real?” It kind of feels like I’m inside a game. I’m fascinated about the fact that you’re right in front of me, Daesung oppa,” Miyeon said, visibly starstruck.

Daesung, caught off guard, mentioned he only recently learned Miyeon used to be a YG trainee after seeing fellow member Yuqi’s previous appearance on the show. Soyeon jumped in with a revelation: “She went to YG because of you.”

Blushing, Miyeon confirmed, “Totally. You were my bias….” She even added, “I also listened to a lot of Daesung’s Japanese albums. I also went to your concerts,” prompting Daesung to look away in shy disbelief, only for Miyeon to plead, “Sunbaenim, please listen to me!”

Daesung joked, “For real! By any chance, is that why… Is that why you named your channel MIYEON.zip?”

Soyeon backed up her claim, insisting, “Seriously! She’s not saying this for the show, she talked about you for years!” to which Miyeon doubled down, “You’re really my… first and last favorite singer during my school years.” Soyeon jokingly responded, “I don’t think I should be here…”

Daesung then turned the spotlight on Soyeon, teasing her about her admiration for G-Dragon. Laughing, she said, “Honestly, for idols of our generation, there’s no one who didn’t see BIGBANG as their role models.”

The wholesome exchange delighted fans, highlighting just how deeply BIGBANG influenced a new generation of K-pop idols, even inspiring some to chase their own dreams.
