Moon Sua Pens Emotional Letter on 2nd Anniversary of Brother Moonbin’s Passing
On April 19, Moon Sua shared a heartfelt letter to honor the second anniversary of her brother Moonbin’s passing.
In the letter, she revealed, “I sang a song for the first time while thinking of you. Touched? It might not be perfect, but I truly hope you can feel how sincere I am.” The message referenced a tribute song released in collaboration with fellow artists in memory of Moonbin.

She also opened up about her personal journey since his passing, writing, “I’ve been doing my best to live well. There are days I’m just getting by, days I can smile, and days that feel completely overwhelming—but the harder it gets, the more I try to stay strong.”
Moonbin passed away on April 19, 2023. Today at 6 p.m. (KST), a tribute song featuring Moon Sua, ASTRO members, and 22 fellow artists will be released in his memory.
Full Letter from Moon Sua:
Oppa, are you doing well?
This time, I sang a song for you for the first time.
How is it—kind of touching, right?
It might not be perfect,
but I hope you can feel how sincere I am.
So many thoughts crossed my mind while preparing it.
It was the first time I sang for you,
so I was extra nervous and cautious.
I guess it means I really wanted to do well for you.
I wanted to share my heart with you, even if just like this.
But oppa, I’ve really been trying my best.
There are days I barely hold on,
days I smile,
and days that are just a mess.
But the harder it is,
the more I try to live strongly.
I feel like if you saw me, you’d say,
“You did well.”
I thought a lot about what song to choose,
and in the end, this one felt right.
“I’ll always remember us just the way we are.”
That line just felt like us.
Even the days we were too shy to express how we felt—
I’ll remember all of it, just as it was.
And don’t get upset or sulky
just because I didn’t think about you for a moment.
It’s not that—I’m always thinking of you.
I just don’t say it out loud.
But here’s the funny thing:
I hate looking like I’m fine,
but I hate looking not fine too.
Maybe because the day is getting closer,
but I’ve been seeing you in my dreams now and then.
Not often, but still—
it made me so happy to see you.
Thank you for showing up like that.
When we meet again,
please carry me on your back and hug me tightly.
And even if you say nothing else,
just say this one thing:
“Sua, you’ve been through so much.”
Let’s be forever, Moon siblings.
If I could be born again,
I’d still want to be your sister.
I truly miss you and love you.Advertisement
