A major factor in the drama’s success has been the outstanding performances of its leads, particularly Choi Hyun-wook, whose portrayal of Ban Joo-yeon has been spot-on.

CP Kim expressed high satisfaction with Choi Hyun-wook’s performance, stating, “At one point, I thought, ‘Who else could possibly play Ban Joo-yeon if not Choi Hyun-wook?’ He has completely embodied the character.

Moon Ga-young’s performance has also been a highlight. Her signature cheerful and lively energy has captivated viewers, making her character Baek Soo-jung both relatable and endearing.

CP Kim praised Moon Ga-young’s performance, “Her signature lovable yet sharp acting worked exceptionally well in this drama.

CP Kim added, “Her portrayal of Baek Soo-jung, who experiences romance twice with her ‘dark past’ first love, added depth to the character and naturally drew viewers in.”

The drama’s ability to blend various genres—comedy, romance and office—has been a key factor in its appeal. While romance dramas are abundant in Korean television, success is never guaranteed.

When asked whether the production team anticipated such a positive response, CP Kim explained, “The drama is based on the popular Naver Webtoon of the same name by Hye Jin-yang. Given the webtoon’s popularity, we were curious about how the drama adaptation would be received. We’re incredibly grateful for the enthusiastic response.
