Ex-WINNER Nam Tae-hyun Caught Drunk Driving Again While on Probation for Drug Charges “License Cancellation Level”

On May 8, the Seoul Yongsan Police Station announced that Nam Tae-hyun had been booked and is under investigation for violating the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving).
Nam is accused of crashing into the median while attempting to overtake a car near Dongjak Bridge on the Gangbyeonbuk-ro expressway heading toward Ilsan at around 4:10 a.m. on April 27.

Fortunately, there were no casualties, but Nam’s blood alcohol concentration at the time was reportedly at a level that warrants license cancellation (0.08% or higher).
The police requested an arrest warrant on May 2, but the court rejected it during a warrant review hearing on May 7, citing insufficient grounds for detention. The police are expected to forward the case without detention soon.

Meanwhile, Nam was sentenced to 10 months in prison with a 2-year probation in January last year for violating the Narcotics Control Act. He was also fined 6 million KRW for a drunk driving accident during a drug investigation in March 2023.
