Three top Hallyu stars, Lee Min-ho, Kim Soo-hyun, and Park Bo-gum, are set to meet viewers in new projects scheduled for release in 2024
Lee Min-ho will return with the new drama “Ask the Stars” after a two-year break following Apple TV’s drama “Pachinko”. The series follows the fateful encounter of a space-tourist and an astronaut on a space station. Lee Min-ho plays the role of Gong Ryong, an obstetrician-gynecologist with a strong sense of responsibility who arrives at the space station as a tourist, forming a special romance with Gong Hyo-jin, who plays the Korean-American astronaut Eve Kim. The drama utilizes numerous visual effects due to its space setting.
Kim Soo-hyun, who last appeared in the 2021 Coupang Play series “One Ordinary Day”, is making a comeback after 3 years with the new project “Queen of Tears”. This drama marks the third collaboration between Kim Soo-hyun and writer Park Ji-eun, who previously worked on “My Love from the Star” (2013) and “The Producers” (2015). In “Queen of Tears”, Kim Soo-hyun plays the role of Baek Hyun-woo, the pride of Yongduri Village and the legal director of the Queens Group, portraying a thrilling romance between a third-year married couple with Kim Ji-won, who portrays Hong Hae-in, the daughter of the Queens Group family.
Park Bo-gum is set to return with the movie “Wonderland” and Netflix’s drama “You Have Done Well”, along with JTBC’s new drama “Good Boy”. “You Have Done Well” depicts the adventure-filled life of Ae-soon (IU), a “rebellious” character born in Jeju in the 1950s, and Gwan-sik (Park Bo Gum), a diligent and quiet person who lacks knowledge when it comes to romance.
“Wonderland” is the new work of director Kim Tae-yong (54), known for the film “Late Autumn”. Apart from Park Bo-gum and Suzy, actress Tang Wei (44), director Kim Tae-yong’s wife, also appears in “Wonderland”.
