“NewJeans Never Dies” NewJeans Wins Grand Artist Award at “KGMA” and Thanks Min Hee-jin
At the 1st Korea Grand Music Awards (KGMA), held on Nov 16th at Inspire Arena in Unseo-dong, Jung-gu, Incheon, NewJeans was announced as the recipient of the Best Artist Award.
In their acceptance speech, NewJeans said, “Thanks to everyone who loves, supports and stands by us, we’ve been able to reach this point and experience these incredible moments. We’re deeply grateful to all the staff who always help us, CEO Min Hee-jin, and Bunnies who came to cheer for us.“
They added, “We want to express our gratitude to CEO Min Hee-jin, who always protects us. We hope to stay together for a very long time.”
Besides, NewJeans was awarded the Grand Artist Award, equivalent to the grand prize (Daesang).
Speaking on behalf of the group, Minji shared her thoughts, “It’s been two years since our debut. Over these two years, we’ve met so many people, experienced countless events, and learned a lot. There were many joyful moments, but also challenges that were difficult for us to handle. However, I believe that overcoming those challenges has allowed us to come together more strongly and become a better team.”
She expressed her gratitude to former CEO Min, “I’m not sure if she’s watching, but I want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank our CEO who always gives us strength.”
Hanni expressed her deep affection for fans, “I know that expressing our gratitude may sometimes come off as an empty phrase, but I hope you understand that it’s not. We don’t know how long we’ll remain as NewJeans, but I believe no one can interfere with the bond between the five of us and our Bunnies (official fandom name). Let’s stay united until the very end.” Danielle concluded with a powerful declaration, shouting “NewJeans Never Dies”, showcasing the group’s unwavering spirit.
Hosted by Ilgan Sports (Edaily M) and organized by the KGMA Organizing Committee, the 2024 KGMA celebrates achievements in K-pop, trot, band, solo and other diverse genres of popular music. The ceremony takes place over two days, on Nov 16th and 17th, at Inspire Arena in Unseo-dong, Jung-gu, Incheon.
Meanwhile, on Nov 15th, Min Hee-jin shared fan art with the phrase “NewJeans Never Die”.
