NJZ (NewJeans): New Agency will be Created Soon, New Song Concept Revealed

On February 7, girl group NewJeans announced their rebrand to a new name, NJZ, at the same time unveiling a new logo and publishing various intriguing photos. They also mentioned the release of a new song, as well as revealed that they will be taking on a bold and sharp image, completely different from their old “girl next door” concept. 

They also show a strong will against ADOR’s injunction and lawsuit, insisting that they have done nothing wrong.

Following these announcements, the members started a livestream to directly converse with fans. Here, various interesting information was revealed. 

In particular, the members disclosed that they chose February 7 (07/02) to reveal the new name, NJZ, since the date is similar to their debut date on July 22 (22/07), adding that they paid attention to this detail since Bunnies (fans of NewJeans) love it. 

Additionally, they mentioned the release date of an upcoming song on March 23, saying that it is a song with “a completely new feeling that has never been shown before”. “In the future, we will try a lot of things we haven’t done before, new and fun things”, the members also stated. On top of that, the photos newly published on their Instagram are actually related to the concept of the new song that will be revealed.

Responding to fans’ concerns over their lack of agency, NJZ replied, “You don’t have to worry because an agency will be created soon.”

Finally, the girl group confirmed that while the group name has been changed, the fandom name, Bunnies, will remain the same, before saying goodbye to fans and expressing their gratitude for continued support.
