No Evidence of Crime or Arrest in U.S. Linked to Kim Soo-hyun, Says Korean Consulate

Meta Description: Korean officials deny claims linking Kim Soo-hyun to a violent crime in the U.S., citing no arrests or investigations.

On May 19, the Korean Consulate General in New York confirmed that no South Korean nationals have been arrested or investigated for attempted murder or similar offenses within its jurisdiction. Under Article 36 of the Vienna Convention, the consulate would have been notified immediately if a Korean citizen had been detained—no such notice has been received.

The statement follows claims made on May 7 by Kim Se-ui, CEO of Garosero Research Institute, who alleged that a man identified as “A” was stabbed in New Jersey by two suspects linked to Kim Soo-hyun. The incident was described as a contracted crime under FBI investigation. However, Korean diplomatic officials stated they have no confirmation from U.S. agencies, including the FBI.

“A” is the whistleblower who previously provided Garosero with an audio recording allegedly featuring Kim Sae-ron claiming a past romantic relationship with Kim Soo-hyun. The file’s authenticity has since been challenged.

On the same day, YouTuber and former journalist Lee Jin-ho presented a forensic report suggesting the audio was AI-generated and manipulated by the whistleblower. He also revealed that the whistleblower demanded money from both him and Kim Soo-hyun’s team in exchange for withholding the recording—demands that were ignored.

With no verified evidence of violence, legal action, or authentic recordings, public skepticism continues to grow regarding the whistleblower’s claims and the credibility of the allegations.
