“Our Youth” Kamimura Kenshin Arrested for Indecent Assault: Fans Shocked by Halted Activities

According to South China Morning Post (SCMP) on March 5th (local time), Hong Kong police responded to a report of indecent assault at a restaurant in Mong Kok on March 2nd. It was later confirmed that the suspect was Kamimura Kenshin.
Kamimura Kenshin attended a fan meeting event in Hong Kong for the drama “Our Youth” on March 1st, the day before the incident. This was the first overseas fan meeting for the drama, with plans for an Asian tour, including Thailand, Osaka and Tokyo.

Local media, citing insider sources, reported that the incident happened during a celebratory gathering at a restaurant with a female interpreter after the fan meeting. Following his arrest, Kamimura Kenshin appeared in a local court on the morning of March 4th, with his trial set for April 15th.
Before the reports surfaced, his agency Stardust Promotion announced through its official website on March 4th, “Due to a serious breach of contract, Kamimura Kenshin’s contract has been terminated. We sincerely apologize to fans and all related parties for the inconvenience caused.”

After announcing his contract termination, the agency deleted his personal accounts and removed all related content from official channels. As they did not disclose the details of his contract violation, the news from Hong Kong came as a greater shock to fans.
Kamimura Kenshin debuted in 2018 as part of the six-member Japanese group ONE N’ ONLY, balancing both singing and acting careers. In 2024, he gained global recognition, including in Korea, Thailand and Hong Kong, through his role in “Our Youth”, a drama adaptation of a popular Lezhin Comics webtoon.

ONE N’ ONLY was previously introduced on a Japanese entertainment program as a “must-know group of the moment“. Member Tetta described their music style as “JK-POP“, emphasizing, “Our music is distinctly different from J-POP because it is influenced by Western music and K-POP.” Another member, Naoya, mentioned BTS when asked about their rivals, stating, “We want to perform on the global stage.”
The group gained attention in Japan by covering BTS’s hit songs like “Butter” and “Black Swan”. They also amassed over 2.5 million followers on TikTok, boosting their popularity.
