There are signs of the trend of “pantless look” or “no-pants look”, wearing shorts with a triangle line as short as underwear or not wearing pants at all
Some parents are concerned that teenagers may follow this fashion trend as girl groups continue to showcase such fashion.
According to the fashion industry on Jan 29th, the trend of pantless look is prevalent, particularly among famous idols such as LE SSERAFIM, BLACKPINK and SISTAR.
In the recently released trailer for LE SSERAFIM’s 3rd mini-album “EASY”, member Huh Yunjin wore a white bra top and gray panties.
SISTAR’s subunit, SISTAR19, also appeared wearing only white bra tops, panties and white boots when singing their comeback song on Jan 16th.
(G)I-DLE also shared concept photos wearing shiny silver bikini tops and short white bottoms against a backdrop of white snow. In the teaser video for their title track “Super Lady” released on Jan 26th, they were shown not wearing pants at all.
Netizens expressed negative opinions, “I’m worried that teenagers might imitate them”, “It seems like a forced trend” and “It’s uncomfortable to see.”
On the other hand, some had positive reactions, “It feels liberating” and “It’s cool not to be swayed by prejudice and judgment.”
Meanwhile, the pantless look has been a dominant fashion trend since last year. Stars like Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway, model Hailey Bieber and media personality Kim Kardashian began to gain sensational popularity by showcasing such fashion.
