Actor Park Bo-gum is set to return with a dramatically new image in JTBC’s upcoming Saturday-Sunday drama “Good Boy,” which will premiere on May 31.

Along with the announcement, the production released a striking teaser poster showcasing Park Bo-gum’s fierce transformation.

“Good Boy,” directed by Shim Na-yeon and written by Lee Dae-il, is a comic action youth investigation drama that follows medalists who, after being specially recruited as police officers, fight against a world rife with corruption and injustice. Shim Na-yeon, recognized for her critically acclaimed works such as “Beyond Evil” and “The Good Bad Mother,” teams up with Lee Dae-il, the writer behind “Life on Mars” and “Chief of Staff.”

Notably, the drama has garnered early attention for promising a side of Park Bo-gum never seen before. Known for his wide acting range in dramas like “Love in the Moonlight,” “Encounter,” and “Record of Youth,” Park Bo-gum has recently reignited nationwide attention through his variety show appearance in “My Name is Gabriel.”

In “Good Boy,” Park Bo-gum portrays Yoon Dong-joo, a former national boxing athlete who joins the police force as a special recruit. His character embodies a fiery youth, unable to stand by in the face of injustice, taking up his fists once again in the name of justice.

The newly unveiled teaser poster leaves a powerful impression, featuring Park Bo-gum with blood streaming down his face, a bandaged fist clenched tightly, and fierce determination burning in his eyes. To prepare for this role, Park Bo-gum reportedly underwent more than six months of rigorous physical training, including one hour of strength training and two hours of boxing daily.
