Explaining how he prepared for his chemistry with Suzy, the actor said, “After reading the narratives for these two characters written in the scripts, I kept thinking about how to express their feelings for each other and how to portray Tae-joo’s affection for Jeong-in. We took many pictures of each other. We tried to capture beautiful and precious moments that were not shown in the film. Together with the director, we kept reviewing the scripts and completed the narratives”.

Suzy also shared, “I made a lot of good memories. In order to show how Tae-joo and Jeong-in have been together as lovers who are like friends for a long time, we used many props and reviewed the scripts a lot. As we kept working together, our chemistry as a couple naturally became more perfect”.

When asked about his acting performance that keeps changing from being AI and a real person, Park Bo-gum confessed, “I consider Wonderland an unfamiliar and ideal world. Created based on the real Tae-joo, AI Tae-joo is brighter, healthier and happier. I think this character was created after Jeong-in added what she wanted to see from him to Tae-joo’s original self. In terms of acting, it was not very difficult or uncomfortable”.

Suzy pointed out such characteristics of Tae-joo as a main point. She explained, “I wanted to express the parts where conversations don’t go smoothly and communication doesn’t work well. I could feel the miscommunication even from the script. They are conversations between humans but there are many strange things. I tried to express those aspects well.”

When asked about their opinion on the usage of Wonderland if there exists such a service in real life, Park Bo-gum said he would not use it and explained, “I would like to try it at first. I wish I could use the service in a healthy way as Harry (Jung Yu-mi) does, but I’m afraid that I may become so into the service that I won’t let go of my phone”.

However, Suzy had a different idea. She said, “It may be difficult to control but I have a vague belief that I’ll be able to overcome it in some way, like Jeong-in does. Instead, I thought about what it would be like if I became the person inside the service, but I’m not sure how others think of me”.

Lastly, Park Bo-gum confessed, “In this rapidly changing era, AI service will develop very fast. This is a movie that makes you think and wonder whether you will be swayed by such technology or adapt it to your life in a healthy way. I hope it will give you a little meaningful comfort”.

“Wonderland” will premiere on June 5th.
