On the afternoon of the 21st (local time), the ‘Disney Content Showcase APAC 2024’ was held at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.
After the announcement of Disney+ APAC region content, an original content press conference for ‘Hyperknife’ took place. Actors Park Eun-bin, Seol Kyung-gu, and director Kim Jung-hyun attended the event.

‘Hyperknife’ is a medical thriller that follows the intense confrontation and mental battle between Seok (played by Park Eun-bin), a former promising genius doctor, and her former mentor Deok-hee (played by Seol Kyung-gu), who caused her downfall due to a series of events.
On this day, Seol Kyung-gu shared that it was his first time playing a doctor through ‘Hyperknife.’ He said, “Before entering the operating room, the university neurosurgery professor taught me the actions, the process of changing into a surgical gown, and what to do right before surgery.” He added, “Whenever we filmed surgery scenes on set, he would come and check until it was over, offering corrections. Since it’s a drama, he would give me advice if I wanted to do something that suited my character.”

He continued, “The most difficult scene, just considering the surgery, was the first surgery. My hands are thick. I’m not delicate enough, so it was hard to use a tweezer and handle things with detail.”
Park Eun-bin said, “I made sure to focus on realism, but also prepared for the parts that were allowed for drama. My fingers are thin and delicate. (laughs) I couldn’t use a double, so I did it myself, and I was worried about whether the scene I did would be okay on screen. The professor who advised me reassured me that there wouldn’t be much of a difference.”
‘Hyperknife’ is set to be released in March 2025.
