On July 15, South Korean media outlet Sports Kyunghyang reported that Park Gyuri has been listed as a witness in Song’s upcoming trial, scheduled for July 16 at the Seoul Southern District Court’s 12th Criminal Division. If she appears, her testimony is expected to be delivered behind closed doors.

However, her attendance is still uncertain, as she is reportedly staying overseas. Song Ja-ho, who dated Park Gyuri publicly in the past, was indicted and detained in July 2023 on multiple charges, including fraud under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes, breach of trust, obstruction of business, and violation of the Capital Markets Act. Authorities allege that he solicited investments for artworks he did not own and manipulated the value of the cryptocurrency PicaCoin.

With over 14,000 alleged victims, the scale of the case has stunned many. Park Gyuri, who once held the position of Chief Communications Officer (CCO) and worked as a curator for Pica Project, is now being scrutinized for her potential knowledge of or involvement in the company’s operations during her tenure.

As the court date looms, all eyes are on whether the former idol will appear to testify—and what revelations her words might bring.
