On the afternoon of Nov 19th, Park Ji-hyun met with Xports News at a café in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
In “The Hidden Face”, Seong-jin (played by Song Seung-heon) is in search of his missing fiancée, Soo-yeon (played by Cho Yeo-jeong). However, Soo-yeon’s junior, Mi-joo (played by Park Ji-hyun), suddenly appears before him, and it turns into a unique thriller set in a confined space where Soo-yeon, presumed missing, watches their affair unfold from a hidden room.

Park Ji-hyun plays Mi-joo, a cellist junior who creates a new flow and tension between Seong-jin and Soo-yeon. She takes on a bold role, marking her transformation and piquing audience interest.
Director Kim Dae-woo revealed that during their first meeting, he noticed Park Ji-hyun’s pride in viewing exposure as a “costume”. After their meeting, he canceled other meetings, affirming her suitability for the role.
Park Ji-hyun explained, “If exposure is seen as a costume, then wearing nothing could be seen as a costume as well. The exposure in that scene was a secondary element, not the focus. When the director suggested that costume, I agreed.” She further shared that, when selecting roles, she imagines how a scene should unfold, and in this case, it felt right.
She added, “I’ve had auditions for roles with exposure before, and my parents have supported me in my acting career ever since I became an adult. They trust my decisions.” Regarding “The Hidden Face”, she noted, “My parents didn’t say ‘Well done’, but they didn’t disapprove either. They respect my choices.“
Meanwhile, “The Hidden Face” will be released on Nov 20th.
