Musical Actor’s Steamy Scandal Rocks Theater Scene: Underwear Photo and Affair Rumors with Co-star

On June 5, production company Nine Story announced that Park Jun-hwi, who was originally cast in the role of “Cho,” would no longer be participating in the show. The announcement cited “personal reasons,” but the decision closely follows a social media scandal involving leaked photos and private messages.
On the same day, explicit photos were posted on Park Jun-hwi’s personal social media account, showing him in his underwear alongside ensemble cast member “B” from the musical Bare: The Musical. The photos depicted them kneeling together, raising questions about the nature of their relationship.

Additionally, screenshots of text exchanges—presumably between Park and B—surfaced, along with what appears to be a marriage contract with another woman, hinting that Park was preparing for marriage. These posts are believed to have been uploaded by Park’s fiancée.
Though the three photos were quickly deleted, they spread rapidly through online communities, especially among fans of theater and musicals.

A particularly viral image showed Park sitting with his head down beside a woman on a couch, igniting speculation and backlash. The situation further escalated with allegations that Park, who is reportedly engaged, had been involved in an inappropriate relationship with another woman.
The scandal has had immediate career consequences. Park previously exited Bare: The Musical alongside co-star Woo Jin-young, and his departures from Nijinsky and now Deungdeunggok have been formally confirmed.
Park’s role in Deungdeunggok will now be filled by actors Park Sang-hyuk and Kim Seo-hwan, whose photos have already replaced his in the show’s official promotional content. The production team has issued an apology to audience members and announced that ticket holders who made reservations before June 5 can request refunds or cancellations without service fees until 5 p.m. on June 10.

As Deungdeunggok proceeds with a revised lineup, Park Jun-hwi finds himself at the center of growing public scrutiny, raising questions about the future of his career both on and off the stage.
