Park Jung-min Clears Up Hiatus Rumors, Recalls Senior Actor’s Hilarious Reaction

Appearing on the June 11 episode of tvN’s You Quiz on the Block, actor Park Jung-min addressed recent reports suggesting he was stepping away from acting. “I’ve never used words like ‘hiatus’ or ‘sabbatical’ myself,” he emphasized.
“Those reports were inaccurate. I just said I might rest for a year, but the headlines twisted it into something much bigger. It’s normal for actors to take some time off. I’m fine.”
Park recently launched an independent publishing company, Mujé (無題), which may have contributed to speculation about a shift in career focus. But the actor made it clear that his passion for acting remains intact.

“One day, I looked at myself in the mirror and noticed I was making a face I’ve seen in movies. It made me pause—like, ‘Is this all I’ve got now?’ That’s when I realized I needed time to regroup and come back stronger.”
He then shared a humorous moment involving veteran actor Hwang Jung-min. “He said, ‘Don’t take a break, you IC (a playful Korean slang). If you stop, who’s going to bring in the money for the agency?'” Park recounted, mimicking Hwang’s gruff delivery and sparking laughter.
With his usual wit and honesty, Park Jung-min has reassured fans that his supposed “break” is just a temporary breather and not a farewell. As he prepares to return with renewed energy, his candid reflections and enduring humor continue to win hearts.
