On October 13, the YouTube channel “Fairy Jaehyung” posted a video titled “Park Seo-joon… So Intense.”
In the video, Park Seo-joon responded to the question, “Why did you go to the military so early?” by saying, “I had nothing going on. I didn’t have any connections. If you look at it that way, I was like an ‘influence underdog.’”
Park Seo-joon explained that during his early debut days, he felt lost. “It was really overwhelming. I wasn’t sure if I could even continue acting. So, I thought, ‘Let’s take care of military service first’”, the actor confessed.
After his military discharge, Park Seo-joon shared how Kim Soo-hyun helped him secure a contract with an agency.
He said, “A friend of a friend knew Kim Soo-hyun and asked him for help. Soo-hyun gladly connected me with the agency, and on the day I visited, they discussed a contract immediately.”
Thanks to Kim Soo-hyun, Park Seo-joon joined KeyEast. Reflecting on that moment, Park Seo-joon said, “The CEO confidently handed me the contract, saying, ‘This is a standard contract. If you’re unsure, you can consult a lawyer.’ I didn’t know much at the time, so I said I’d review it and get back to them. It was all so new to me, and the company was huge.”
However, Park Seo-joon shared that joining an agency didn’t solve all his problems.
“Even after joining the company, there were still many challenges. As a rookie, opportunities were scarce, and back then, the top three broadcasting stations were everything, so there weren’t many projects, and auditions often had thousands of people,” he explained.
