Who is ILLIT’s Minju?
Minju is a member of the 5-member girl group ILLIT, which debuted under the HYBE subsidiary Belift Lab. She placed 3rd in the survival show “R U Next”, which set the foundation for ILLIT’s formation.

ILLIT’s Minju Career
Prior to her debut with ILLIT, Minju is known to have been a trainee under YG Entertainment, but the specific training period is unknown. She is speculated to join Belift Lab around 2022, and was announced as a contestant on the survival show “R U Next?” On June 16, 2023. She eventually ranked 3rd in the show and went on to become a member of ILLIT.
ILLIT made their debut on March 25, 2024, with the mini album “Super Real Me” and the viral title track “Magnetic”. You can read more about Minju’s career with ILLIT HERE.
While there are no official positions within ILLIT, many believe Minju to be the group’s main vocalist due to her impressive and stable live-singing, which gained massive praise during her time in “R U Next?”. She is also known as a representative visual member of ILLIT.
Since her debut, Minju have also acted as the guest MC for music programs such as “Music Bank” and appeared on several TV shows.
ILLIT’s Minju Trivia
Minju was born in Namyangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea to a family consisting of herself, her parents, and an older brother. She graduated from Misagangbyeon High School, and is known to be able to play the violin.
Minju has a dog named Ddungi (뚱이). According to the female idol, she loves all animals, but she likes dogs the most. In contrast, she has an extreme fear of bugs. She is close with all the members of BABYMONSTER due to her time as a trainee under YG Entertainment.
Minju’s hobby is playing games, and her motto is “This too shall pass”, showing a positive mindset. Minju has a rational and realistic personality, however, she can also be affectionate and bright despite being an introvert.
Her favorite space is her bed in her room. She says that she likes the bed the most because it is where she feels the most comfortable and safe, and because there are lots of delicious things in Minju’s room that she can eat just by reaching out while lying down.
According to Minju, she enjoyed watching the famous anime “Naruto”, and even once had a crush on the character Uchiha Itachi when she was a kid.
