The new TVING drama “Pyramid Game” drew keen attention by releasing its main poster and the first trailer
On February 6th, TVING unveiled the main poster and trailer of its new original series “Pyramid Game”. This is a drama about the survival of students in Class 2-5 of Baekyeon Girls’ High School being divided into perpetrators, victims, and bystanders and gradually falling into violence through a secret vote by selecting a person to be bullied once a month.
This work is arousing keen attention due to the first acting challenges of Jang Da-ah and Shin Seul-ki.
Jang Da-ah is three years older than Jang Won-young and she has been so famous among fans as Jang Won-young’s pretty sister even before her acting debut. Starting her career in the entertainment industry by signing an exclusive contract with King Kong by Starship last year, Jang Da-ah will play the role of Baek Ha-rin, a student in Class 2-5 who is loved by everyone, in “Pyramid Game”.
Rising to stardom after participating in Netflix’s “Single’s Inferno”, Shin Seul-ki is also challenging herself as an actress. She will appear as Seo Do-ah, the pyramid game host and the No.1 FM class president in school.
The released main poster of “Pyramid Game” stimulates curiosity with the appearance of students in Class 2-5 of Baekyeon Girls’ High School, where the cruel game takes place. Once a month, Class 2-5 needs to pick a person to be bullied through a secret vote. Upon her transfer, Sung Soo-ji (Kim Ji-yeon), who sits on the floor in the middle of the class, is in F grade, which is the lowest rank where there is nowhere else to go down. On the other hand, Baek Ha-rin (Jang Da-ah) sits on the table confidently with a relaxed smile because she’s in the high class.
Myung Ja-eun (Ryu Da-in), who is always in F grade, catches the eyes of viewers as she doesn’t even wear her school uniform properly. Seo Do-ah (Shin Seul-ki) and Lim Ye-rim (Kang Na-eon) are also in the high class as they sit on both sides with Baek Ha-rin in the middle.
The teaser video then raised the tension of drama fans by showing transfer student Sung Soo-ji stepping into the cruel survival. On the last Thursday of every month, Class 2-5 of Baekyeon Girls’ High School will vote for a person to be bullied through an app. The students call it “Pyramid Game”, but Sung Soo-ji notices that this system is used as a way to legalize bullying and harassment.
From the moment Sung Soo-ji is given F grade, reality becomes a nightmare. The violent survival among the students who try to protect themselves and prove their rank is scarier than they could imagine. In the middle of confusion, Baek Ha-rin comforts Sung Soo-ji, saying “It’s not your fault, Soo-ji ah”. Sung Soo-ji replies, “I have to find it…. the way to get rid of the F grade”, suggesting her rebellion to change instead of staying on the floor. Many viewers are looking forward to the official broadcast to see whether Sung Soo-ji will be able to break the pyramid.
Jang Da-ah and Shin Seul-ki’s debut drama “Pyramid Game” will premiere on February 29th.
