
On Feb 15th (local time), Taiwanese media outlet ETtoday reported on Rain’s concert, which was held for the first time in Taiwan in 9 years. The singer performed his “Still Raining Asia Tour” at the Kaohsiung Pop Music Center.

According to the report, toward the end of the concert, Rain solemnly mentioned Koo Jun-yup, who recently lost his wife Barbie Hsu. Rain stated, “Koo Jun-yup is a beloved senior and a respected figure in K-pop. We are all saddened by his pain. The deceased was my sister-in-law. Though I never had the chance to meet her, as Koo Jun-yup’s junior, I want to offer my condolences. Please join me in a 10-second moment of silence.”
He added, “I cannot see Koo Jun-yup in person, but I want to pray for him from afar. This is something I must do. Please support and stand by Koo Jun-yup.” According to the media outlet, the audience joined Rain in the moment of silence.

Barbie Hsu passed away on Feb 2nd in Tokyo due to pneumonia caused by the flu. She was laid to rest through a tree burial on Feb 14th. Barbie Hsu and Koo Jun-yup first dated in 1998 for about a year, reunited after more than 20 years, and got married in 2022.
