Shin Won-ho PD Teases Ahn Eun-jin’s Husband in “Resident Playbook” Might Be Namgoong Min, Not Kim Dae-myung
On April 25, Netflix Korea released a behind-the-scenes talk video featuring the cast of Resident Playbook: Kang You-seok, Go Youn-jung, Shin Si-ah, and Han Ye-ji, along with Shin Won-ho PD himself.
In the video, Kang You-seok brought up a burning fan question, “Those who watched episodes 1 to 4 would’ve noticed that characters from Hospital Playlist made appearances. Many are curious—did Choo Min-ha and Professor Yang Seok-hyung really get married?”
This speculation stems from the April 13 episode, where actress Ahn Eun-jin made a cameo as Choo Min-ha, introducing herself as a newlywed, heavily implying her marriage to Yang Seok-hyung (played by Kim Dae-myung), continuing their storyline from Hospital Playlist.
Go Youn-jung chimed in, “I overheard a phone call that definitely sounded like newlywed bliss.”
However, Shin PD added a twist, “She did get married. I didn’t attend the wedding though—didn’t get an invite. But someone joked, ‘What if it’s not Professor Yang Seok-hyung but Namgoong Min?’ You’ll probably find out later in the series.”
Shin Won-ho also emphasized that time is progressing in the Yulje universe, hinting that more connections to Hospital Playlist will be revealed. “Writer Kim Song-hee, writer Lee Woo-jung, and I had a lot of discussions about how time has passed in both timelines. We’ll gradually reveal what’s happening on the other side too.”
When Kang You-seok asked if more familiar faces would continue to appear, Shin PD confirmed, “Thankfully, many actors were happy to make cameos, so you’ll likely see them in more episodes.”
With mysterious cameos and romantic twists unfolding, Resident Playbook continues to expand the beloved Hospital Playlist universe in exciting ways.
