As tvN’s hit weekend drama Resident Playbook concluded its successful run on May 18, one unexpected behind-the-scenes revelation has caught viewers off guard—and sparked admiration.

In Episode 11, aired on May 17, the show revisited the emotional backstory of Oh Yi-young (played by Go Youn-jung) and Lee Chae-ryeong (played by Choi Yoon-ji), a newly assigned labor and delivery nurse.

The pair were once coworkers at a dermatology clinic, where Chae-ryeong experienced sexual harassment from a senior male doctor. Yi-young bravely intervened by biting the harasser’s hand, an act that ultimately forced her to leave the hospital.

The flashback scene was particularly intense, as it depicted the male doctor inappropriately touching Chae-ryeong’s buttocks—but in a surprising twist, the production did not use Choi Yoon-ji for this moment. Instead, the scene featured a male body double, actor Lee Jun-hee.

The show’s production team acknowledged this creative solution in the episode’s end credits with a message reading, “Butt double: Lee Jun-hee,” thanking him for his contribution. The choice was made to ensure comfort and professionalism for the actors involved during such a sensitive shoot.

On May 19, Choi Yoon-ji also shared her appreciation on social media. Posting a behind-the-scenes photo with the stand-in actor, she wrote, “Thank you to the staff and the body double who helped so much during filming.”

This isn’t the first time body doubles have been used in the Hospital Playlist universe, of which Resident Playbook is a spin-off. Past episodes employed similar techniques for scenes involving pregnant bellies, balancing realism with the cast’s well-being.
