Cha Eun-woo Declines Hong Sisters’ New Drama, Makes Big Screen Debut as Lead in “First Ride”

On April 3, Fantagio, the agency of actor Cha Eun-woo, officially stated, “Cha Eun-woo has recently confirmed his role in the film ‘First Ride’ (working title), which he had received an offer for.”
The agency added, “We thank everyone for their continued interest and love for our artist Cha Eun-woo, and we ask for your support in the future as well.”
Cha Eun-woo previously appeared in a supporting role in the film “My Palpitating Life” and made a special appearance in “Decibel”, but this will mark his first time taking on a lead role in a film. Thus, “First Ride” is expected to be Cha Eun-woo’s official big screen debut as a leading actor.
Earlier, Cha Eun-woo was in positive talks to star alongside Go Min-si in a new project by the Hong sisters, but he ultimately declined the offer, leaving fans disappointed.

The Hong Sisters are a popular writing duo known for creating numerous hit dramas such as “You’re Beautiful,” “My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho,” “The Greatest Love,” “Hotel Del Luna,” and “Alchemy of Souls,” which have launched many Hallyu stars. While currently filming their Netflix project “Love in Translation,” they are also quickly preparing for their next work.
Go Min-si is one of the most prominent stars in her 20s, having gained recognition through “Sweet Home” and “Youth of May,” as well as the movie “Smugglers.” She continued her streak with Netflix’s “The Frog” and the variety show “Jinny’s Kitchen 2” last year.

Her next confirmed project is the ENA drama “Your Taste,” where she will star alongside Kang Ha-neul. She is expected to continue her hardworking streak, quickly securing new roles and demonstrating her relentless “busy bee” work ethic.
