RM and V Hold Lightning-Fast Live Broadcast Right After Discharge, Joined by Eldest Hyung Jin
On June 10, RM and V, having completed their military service, went live on Weverse. RM shared, “I’ve finished 548 days of military service,” greeting fans alongside V.
RM revealed he was under the weather, saying, “I caught a cold. It’s not severe, but my voice is a bit off. What’s frustrating is that during my final leave, I climbed stairs for two weeks straight and skipped lunch.” He added, “I went to bed at 2 a.m. yesterday, and tears just kept coming. My face was so swollen, and I felt wronged.”
Reflecting on their discharge experiences, RM noted, “Yesterday, I felt the full spectrum of human emotions—joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness,” while V shared a contrasting perspective, “I teared up when my seniors were discharged, but when it was my turn, I didn’t cry.” V continued, “For a year and a half, I genuinely supported my friends’ dreams and thought about how I could help them. In the military, I was with friends from morning till night, which was a unique experience.”
RM likened his military life to his early days, saying, “At 17, I moved into a dorm in Nonhyeon-dong with 30 people. At 30, I did it again. It felt like being a trainee again.” He added, “For five or six years before enlisting, I was never scolded. But in the military, getting scolded and going through those experiences made me feel like I was starting over from scratch.”
RM also shared, “I got close to friends who completed their service. I connected with hyungs, friends, and even my father in a new way, understanding things only military veterans would get.” Later, Jin made a surprise appearance on the live, sporting a red ribbon on his head and announcing, “I’m here to celebrate your discharge. I’m your gift!” Jin asked about J-Hope, to which RM replied, “He was just here earlier,” showcasing BTS’s enduring bond.
RM and V praised Jin, saying, “You worked hard,” to which Jin responded, “With the members gone, I had to step up. I’m counting on you guys,” expressing anticipation for BTS’s full-group activities after all members complete their service.
On June 10, RM and V were discharged. Jimin and Jungkook are set to be discharged on June 11, while Suga, serving as a social service agent, will complete his alternative service on June 21, marking the moment all BTS members return to civilian life.
