Rosé Mentions BLACKPINK & Tearfully Confesses Affection For Family, “I Tend To Hide Feelings”
tvN’s “You Quiz on the Block” broadcast on December 11th unveiled the scene in which Rosé mentioned her strong teamwork with BLACKPINK members Jennie, Jisoo and Lisa.
On the show, Yoo Jae-suk said, “Not only Rosé but other BLACKPINK members are also doing various solo activities”, then asked Rosé, “Do you miss them?”. Rosé replied, “I miss them a lot. I remember the day the song was released very well. I got very nervous as soon as I woke up that day. I received so many calls from my friends and wondered if they were also looking forward to the song”.
Recalling that day, she continued, “At that time, Lisa called me and we had a video call for more than an hour. I guess we did for like 2 hours, maybe. I just turned on the video call and cooked some instant noodles to eat. Wasn’t Lisa in New York back then? I told her, ‘Lisa ah, I got so many calls but I’m only talking to you. After this call, I’ll have to get back to work.”
Rosé confessed, “I could probably do a video call with Jisoo unnie at that time, but we texted a lot. Jennie unnie recently sent me a video with ‘Apt.’ playing and we talk quite often. All of us are busy with our own projects here and there. I really miss them”.
In an interview with the production team, Rosé shared, “I guess there will be chances for us to show our synergy (such as an overseas concert tour) next year. We are people who do music so I believe that we can grow while receiving energy from different places. We know exactly when to do this or that. I think we can do something better, do more things with our sincere hearts, and do something more interesting”, raising expectations for BLACKPINK’s group activity in the future.
Yoo Jae-suk continued the talk, saying “I’m suddenly curious about one thing. How about small things that make you feel happy?”. Rosé replied, “This question is a little hard to answer. Actually, I really enjoy the time when I work and I still enjoy it even if I have to do it every day”.
She continued, “Actually, it’s like doing homework to me. I enjoy working so much that even when I feel lacking inspiration and energy, I recharge myself by doing my work steadily. I also just found out about it recently.”
Rosé began to shed tears as she shared, “I actually don’t have expectations for resting. I don’t like resting. I still have many things to do and I feel responsible for it. Therefore, I don’t even talk to my family as much as I did when I was young. I guess I tend to hide my feelings a lot.”
Lastly, she confessed affection for her family, saying “It’s because I need to give myself personal space. I feel like my family will wait for me to come closer to them as time goes by, and that’s why I’m working hard, living hard while enjoying my freedom. I guess they will have to wait a little longer. Sometimes I wondered, ‘What if I regret it if I couldn’t spend enough time with Mom and Dad due to my busy life?’. While growing as an adult, I’m still finding freedom so I hope they can wait for me a little bit more. I just want to say I appreciate Mom and Dad and I love them so much”.
