Rosé’s Album Resembles Taylor Swift’s “1989”? Not Fond of “Breakup Curse” Meme
Recently, BLACKPINK’s Rosé had an interview with the magazine i-D, where she mentioned various interesting anecdotes. In particular, Rosé not only mentioned her interaction with Taylor Swift, but also revealed her stance about dating.
A few topics, however, didn’t make it to the final cut of the interview, but were brought to light by the interviewer via a thread on Internet forum Reddit.
Here, the person who interviewed Rosé mentioned the female idol’s personality, describing her as “very extroverted” and a person who is “very deliberate about how she spoke”, yet still funny and casual.
Additionally, the interview teased a bit about Rosé’s upcoming album, stating that it is “quite emotional”, “all about heartbreak and dating”, and also kind of reminds them of Taylor Swift’s “1989”.
It was also revealed that Rosé likes going out for cocktails and is a devout workaholic.
On top of this, the topic of Rosé’s “breakup curse” was discussed, but the female idol “really doesn’t like that whole narrative”.
Meanwhile, the Rosé “breakup curse” is a meme where fans (and many netizens) joke that if a couple take a photo with Rosé, they will end up breaking up. Alleged “victims” of this curse include Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn, Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik, Florence Pugh and Zach Graff, and Kendall Jenner and Devin Booker, among others.
It seems that despite it being mostly for laughs, Rosé is not fond of the negative connotations.
