On April 22, Seo Hyo-rim posted a screenshot of an online community post to her personal account, along with a caption that read: “A friend sent this to me? I had no idea this even happened. Was this really in 2018? How come I was never informed of such a major event… Maybe it’s someone with the same name?”
The post in question claimed that singer Kim Sang-hyuk and actress Seo Hyo-rim had been involved in an affair in 2018, and that their relationship had been exposed due to a leak of private information. It went on to say that their alleged involvement became a public scandal before either of them was married. In response, Seo Hyo-rim added an emoji of someone crying while laughing—conveying a mix of confusion and frustration.

Seo Hyo-rim, who made her acting debut in the 2007 KBS drama “When Spring Comes,” has since appeared in several popular series including “In-soon Is Pretty,” “Sungkyunkwan Scandal,” “Master’s Sun,” and “The Red Sleeve.” In 2019, she married Jung Myung-ho, the son of the late actress Kim Soo-mi, and the couple now shares a daughter.
Seo Hyo-rim had been known for her close bond with her mother-in-law Kim Soo-mi. After Kim Soo-mi’s passing in October 2023, Seo Hyo-rim shared a heartfelt message in December, writing: “It’s already been over two months, but it still feels like less than two weeks to me. I sometimes worry that people may find my grief tiring, so I try to keep it to myself. But there are moments when the emotions come rushing back and I can’t control them.”

With this latest baseless rumor surfacing online, fans have rallied in support of Seo Hyo-rim, emphasizing the importance of verifying facts and respecting the privacy of public figures.
As Seo Hyo-rim sarcastically questioned whether the post was referring to a namesake, her reaction made it clear she has no connection to the claim and is just as baffled as anyone else.
