BLACKPINK’s Jisoo and Seo In-guk to Star Together in Netflix’s “Boyfriend on Demand”

According to Ten Asia’s coverage on Feb 14th, “Boyfriend on Demand”, originally known as a new MBC drama, has been arranged for Netflix. The series is currently filming domestically and internationally, and is set for release in 2026.
On Feb 20th, Netflix confirmed the casting of Jisoo and Seo In-guk for “Boyfriend on Demand”.
Previously, it was reported that Seo In-guk has been cast as the male lead in “Boyfriend on Demand”. The drama revolves around a unique concept where one subscribes to a virtual boyfriend, and the romance from the virtual world begins to influence reality. The series will be directed by Kim Jeong-sik, known for his work on “Work Later, Drink Now”, “Strong Girl Nam-soon” and “No Gain No Love”.
It was also revealed that Jisoo would be the female lead, drawing considerable attention.
Jisoo plays Seo Mirae, who has grown accustomed to a life without love due to her busy and exhausting reality. She stumbles upon a “Monthly Boyfriend” device that grants her access to a virtual world.
There, she rekindles her dormant love life through encounters with unrealistically perfect boyfriends in the simulated world.
Seo In-guk plays Park Kyung-nam, Seo Mirae’s colleague and rival webtoon PD. To Seo Mirae, he is an irritating presence she wishes to avoid, yet he is widely respected in the company as a top professional.
With his indifferent and somewhat selfish personality, Park Kyung-nam harbors a hidden secret, adding to the intrigue and anticipation surrounding the character. His presence is expected to bring chaotic twists to Seo Mirae’s life.

Seo In-guk debuted as a singer in 2009 before transitioning into acting with the 2012 drama “Love Rain”. Over the past 15 years, he has built a solid acting career with roles in dramas like “Reply 1997”, “Master’s Sun”, “The King’s Face”, “Squad 38”, “Shopping King Louie”, “The Smile Has Left Your Eyes” and “Doom at Your Service”.
Jisoo first ventured into acting with the drama “Snowdrop” and made a special appearance in the film “Dr. Cheon and Lost Talisman”. She has been expanding her acting repertoire with roles in upcoming projects like “Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint”. Recently, she continued her steady work in the industry by starring alongside Park Jeong Min in “Newtopia”.
With Seo In-guk and Jisoo teaming up for this new project, not only domestic but also international fans are eagerly anticipating their on-screen chemistry.
