Coupang Play released still cuts from episode 2 of “SNL Korea” season 7 ahead of its airing this Saturday (April 12) evening.
Opening the show to a warm welcome from “SNL Korea” season 7 cast, including Shin Dong-yup, Seo Ye-ji reportedly delivered a barrage of laughter-inducing performances on set, fully living up to her determined vow to “let everything go”.
The released still cuts show a wide range of Seo Ye-ji’s transformations — from her cool and intense aura in a green suit with an emotionless expression, to over-the-top comedic antics that leave Kim Min-kyo and Shin Dong-yup flabbergasted.
Despite this being her first foray into comedy, Seo Ye-ji showed “a thousand faces” in her acting showcase, seamlessly blending with the seasoned SNL crew to deliver an irresistible wave of laughter. Another scene reveals her engaging in a “Mantra” dance battle against Lee Soo-ji, with Kim Won-hoon caught in the middle — a moment that’s expected to turn Seo Ye-ji into an undeniable “meme star”. Through these fearless and diverse performances, Seo Ye-ji is set to unleash a range of charms in episode 2 of “SNL Korea” season 7, heightening viewer anticipation.
Previously, in April 2021, Seo Ye-ji was embroiled in a gaslighting controversy involving actor Kim Jung-hyun. Kim Jung-hyun, then the male lead of MBC’s drama “Time”, was criticized for displaying rude behavior toward his co-star Seohyun during the press conference and later withdrew from the drama. Controversy erupted when it was alleged that Kim Jung-hyun’s behavior stemmed from Seo Ye-ji’s influence, as the two were reportedly dating at the time.
Leaked KakaoTalk messages showed Seo Ye-ji instructing Kim Jung-hyun to remove all romantic or physical contact scenes with female co-stars from the script and to remain as cold and distant as possible — even avoiding greetings with staff.
Regarding this, Seo Ye-ji’s agency stated, “The controversy surrounding Kim Jung-hyun was not caused by Seo Ye-ji. At the time, Kim Jung-hyun also asked Seo Ye-ji not to film kiss scenes in her drama, and Seo Ye-ji replied with something along the lines of ‘then you shouldn’t either’. It was a typical lovers’ quarrel filled with jealousy.”
