Seo Ye-ji Takes Legal Action Against Defamers and Former Staff Spreading False Rumors, Starts Full-Scale Return
On April 3, Seo Ye-ji‘s agency, Sublime, released an official statement revealing their actions against the malicious defamation and false rumors that have been circulating about the actress. The agency announced, “In response to malicious defamation, false rumors, and crimes such as defamation targeting Seo Ye-ji, we have formed a dedicated team and filed the first criminal complaint against the defamers with the Gangnam Police Station in January.”
The statement confirmed that some of the accused individuals include former staff members who were responsible for disseminating false information about Seo Ye-ji. The agency added, “Some of the individuals whose identities have been confirmed will soon be transferred to the prosecution. We will continue to pursue the remaining suspects to ensure strict legal punishment according to the law.”
Furthermore, the agency emphasized its continued commitment to protecting Seo Ye-ji and its other artists. “We will take strong legal actions against all criminal activities targeting our artists through continuous monitoring. We will firmly respond without any leniency or settlement to protect the rights and interests of our artists.”
Seo Ye-ji was involved in a controversy in 2021 when allegations emerged that she had manipulated her then-boyfriend, actor Kim Jung-hyun, during his drama filming, leading to his unprofessional behavior on set. She also faced accusations of falsifying her academic credentials. The scandal led to a temporary hiatus from the public eye, and Seo Ye-ji later issued an apology for her actions.
Recently, Seo Ye-ji has addressed public misconceptions and the burden of negative perceptions following past controversies, acknowledging that she must endure such judgments.
