Seohyun Overcomes Leg Injury to Appear Without Crutches at ‘2024 KBS Drama Awards’
On January 11, the 2024 KBS Drama Awards was broadcast. Although the awards ceremony was held on December 31, it was not aired live due to the national mourning period following the Muan Airport tragedy. Instead, a recorded version of the event was broadcast. The ceremony was hosted by Jang Sung-kyu, Seohyun, and Moon Sang-min.
Earlier, according to OSEN on January 1, Seohyun injured herself while filming a drama. Despite her condition, she still appeared as an MC at the 2024 KBS Drama Awards held at the KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul on December 31.
Even though Seohyun had been reported to have a leg injury from filming, she grabbed attention by walking arm-in-arm with Moon Sang-min, without the use of a cane.
However, in released footage, Seohyun was seen walking with a noticeable limp and relying on her cane, which sparked concern among fans. Still, she pushed through the discomfort, flawlessly completing her hosting duties and waving warmly to her fans.
A representative for Seohyun confirmed to OSEN, “It is true that she was injured during drama filming. She is currently undergoing treatment and recovering. She plans to return to the drama set soon.”
Seohyun is currently filming KBS2’s new drama “The First Night With the Duke” alongside 2PM’s Ok Taecyeon. It has been reported that the injury occurred during the production of this series. The actress is focusing on her recovery and is expected to rejoin filming shortly.
“The First Night With the Duke” is a romance fantasy drama set to air this year. The story follows Cha Seon-chaek (played by Seohyun), a minor background character in a novel, whose life takes a dramatic turn when her body is possessed by the spirit of a modern-day college student. She inadvertently spends a night with the obsessive male lead Gyeongseong-gun (played by Ok Taecyeon).
In the drama, Seohyun portrays Cha Seon-chaek, a privileged character of wealth and status who dreams of living a simple and carefree life. However, her plans are upended when a college student’s spirit unexpectedly inhabits her body, leading to unintentional chaos in the storyline.
