On April 15, SEVENTEEN members Hoshi and Woozi appeared as guests on the web variety show “Salon Drip 2,” hosted by Jang Do-yeon. The duo spoke candidly about their recent unit debut, their admiration for BIGBANG, and the realities of their busy idol lives.

Hoshi and Woozi recently debuted as a special unit with their first single album “BEAM,” released on March 10. Their title track “Same Age” sparked conversation for its bold yet respectful lyrics, including the line, “When you say ’96, we come right after the dragon-line hyungs.”
Explaining the line, Woozi shared, “The ‘dragon-line hyungs’ are G-Dragon and Taeyang sunbaenim. We’ve always seen them as the ultimate male duo, so while writing the song, we naturally started thinking, ‘What makes us unique?’ The lyrics just flowed from a place of honesty and respect.”
Hoshi added his own fanboy perspective, recalling a recent encounter with BIGBANG during the filming of MBC’s variety show “Good Day.” “They were seriously like angels. Watching them record was such a learning experience,” he said, praising the senior group.
Jang Do-yeon noted Hoshi’s admiration and joked, “You’ve grown so much—now you’re filming with them and even in contact with G-Dragon!” She then playfully asked if he had ever called G-Dragon while drinking. Hoshi, slightly embarrassed, replied, “I haven’t done that. I’m actually an introvert, so I don’t often reach out. I’ve only called Jiyong hyung once or twice.”

When asked about celebrity friendships, Hoshi explained that while he has many contacts, it’s difficult to meet up due to SEVENTEEN’s tight schedule. “We practice every day,” he said. “Since some members are preparing for military service, we constantly have to adjust our routines.”
Through the interview, both Hoshi and Woozi offered fans a glimpse into their creative process, their deep respect for K-pop seniors, and the hectic reality of idol life, proving once again that even stars have idols of their own.
