Shin Min-ah Introduces Her Character In New Drama “No Gain No Love”, “I Practiced Using Slang”
tvN X TVING original drama “No Gain No Love”, scheduled to premiere on August 26th, depicts the romance between Son Hae-young (Shin Min-ah), a woman who gets married because she doesn’t want to lose money, and Kim Ji-wook (Kim Young-dae), a man who becomes a fake groom because he doesn’t want to cause damage to her.
In the drama, Shin Min-ah takes on the role of Son Hae-young, a character who calculates profits and doesn’t like losses in life or love. With her quick calculation skills, Hae-young evaluates the break-even point in everything, from her studies to dating and work, whenever a loss warning appears. As such, when on the verge of not getting promoted, she even hires a short-term groom and organizes a fake wedding to avoid loss.
On August 8th, Shin Min-ah shared her thoughts on her new drama “No Gain No Love” and her character. In various still cuts released on the same day, Shin Min-ah raises viewers’ expectations for a new acting transformation with her sharp eyes and confident smile.
Regarding Son Hae-young, Shin Min-ah commented, “Hae-young is a person who tries to not suffer a loss no matter what”, adding “Despite her fierce calculations of life, Hae-young never hesitates to speak the truth. Acting as this character, I found that characteristic of her very attractive”.
The actress also talked about what she focused on when playing Son Hae-young. She said, “The character sometimes expresses her feelings using slang, so I practiced a lot to make it look natural. This is also the first time I played an office worker so I also paid attention to my styling. I’ll show you guys various styles of Hae-young at her workplace”.
Shin Min-ah chose “Loss ZERO”, “arrogant” and “cold outside, soft inside” as keywords that best describe Son Hae-young. She explained, “Just like her name Son Hae-young, this character hates losing money”, adding “She may look arrogant on the outside because of her straightforward personality and expression, but she’s very warm-hearted”.
Lastly, Shin Min-ah introduced the interesting points to watch the drama. She shared, “It would be more interesting if you follow Hae-young’s emotional lines and understand why she doesn’t want to lose money as well as how she ends up holding a fake wedding”, adding “I hope the drama receives keen attention. I believe that it would be a big loss if you don’t watch this drama”.
