SHINee’s Key Injures Rib Cartilage from Laughing on “Amazing Saturday,” Cast Left Stunned
SHINee’s Key revealed an unexpected and bizarre injury that left both fans and the cast of “Amazing Saturday” stunned, a rib cartilage injury caused by excessive laughter.
During the April 12 broadcast of tvN’s “Amazing Saturday,” the variety show celebrated the second installment of its 7th-anniversary special, featuring guests known for their stubborn traits, including rapper Rhymer, singer K.Will, and actress Kim Ye-won.
Before welcoming the guests, the regular cast amused viewers with their themed costumes. Shin Dong-yup reaffirmed his devotion to “TV Animal Farm,” declaring, “Even if I quit everything else, I’ll never stop doing ‘TV Animal Farm,’ for the animals.”
The cast also included P.O as a stern teacher, Park Na-rae as Jung Hae-ri from “High Kick Through the Roof,” Moon Se-yoon as child psychologist Dr. Oh Eun-young, Nucksal as YouTuber-chef Edward Lee, and Taeyeon as Ye-seo from “Sky Castle.“
Key, dressed as Tiger JK, who famously sang “Stubborn”, casually dropped a surprising update, “I hurt my rib cartilage from laughing.” The cast burst into disbelief, prompting Key to quickly add, “I’m okay now.” Fellow castmates P.O and Park Na-rae confirmed the shocking yet oddly comical incident. “It’s true, it really happened,” they said.
While laughter is usually the best medicine, for Key, it briefly became a cause for medical concern. Thankfully, he assured fans he’s fully recovered and back to his energetic self on the show.
The revelation only added to the show’s infectious energy, proving once again that on Amazing Saturday, anything can happen, even laughing your way into an injury.
